Schoology with Christine
A course for teachers on using OneDrive Christine Kurcoba, Data & Curriculum Coordinator in Elmira City School District Grade(s): K-2 Subject(s): Any Technology Used: Schoology LMS Cohort: 2022 This project details how I have used our LMS platform, Schoology, to help share important information with staff. Raz-Plus with Kelly
Raz-Plus Kelly Palmer, Data & Curriculum Coordinator in Elmira City School District Grade(s): K-2 Subject(s): Any Technology Used: Schoology LMS Cohort: 2022 In order to best support teachers and families during the pandemic closure and while on remote learning models, our team of Data Curriculum Coordinators (DCCs) created tutorials of digital programs and “how to” steps with our school district's Learning Management System Schoology. These tutorials came in many forms (Word documents called “cheat sheets”, video tutorials and powerpoints). SeeSaw with Avery
First Grade Writing with SeeSaw Avery Forcier-Rodabaugh, First grade Teacher (Elmira) Grade(s): 1 Subject(s): ELA Technology Used: SeeSaw; iPads; Promethean Board Cohort: 2022 After demonstrating comfort with iPads and SeeSaw, students were asked to write and draw in their journals with pencils and crayons, and then take a picture and upload their work to SeeSaw to share with teachers, peers, and parents. Rethinking Substitute Plans Noelle Hodack & Allyson Moore, 7th grade math teachers, Elmira City Grade(s): 7 Subject(s): Math Technology Used: EDpuzzle Cohort: 2022 Leaving meaningful substitute plans are the bane of every teacher’s existence. Edpuzzle to the rescue! We created Edpuzzle videos to deliver the instruction we had planned for the week. Modifications using Nearpod Noelle Hodack & Allyson Moore, 7th grade math teachers, Elmira City Grade(s): 7 Subject(s): Math Technology Used: Nearpod Cohort: 2022 Providing modified instruction can be difficult. Using Nearpod, we discovered we could provide modifications for students who needed them without the entire class being aware. FlipGrid: Getting to Know You Heather Hayes & Joel Cook, 5th grade teachers at Campbell-Savona Grade(s): 5 Subject(s): Any Technology Used: FlipGrid Cohort: 2022 We used flipgrid as a way to get to know each other at the beginning of the school year. The students first were able to play with Flipgrid to get to know the features. Then students were given a set of interview questions, they interviewed each other to practice before recording a video. After interviewing each other they recorded the interview using Flipgrid. Using Schoology to Support Substitute Teachers Sarah Welliver, Data & Curriculum Coordinator (Elmira) Grade(s): K-2 Subject(s): Any Technology Used: Schoology Cohort: 2022 As quarantines and illnesses have created much longer periods fo time when classroom teachers are out of the classroom, substitutes become essential in continuing education, yet may not have access to the many electronic resources that teachers use.
